Spiral Bevel gearboxes have proved to be very reliable due to a high standard of gear tooth form and precise manufacture. They are quiet running, shock resistant and accommodate overloads. They provide the design engineer with space saving alternatives contributing to an altogether new approach to industrial design.
The spiral bevel gear boxes are produced in 8 sizes with reducing ratios of 1:1 to 6:1, and with increasing ratios of 1:125 to 1:2, covering a power range of up to 350kW.
Apart from the standard spiral bevel gear boxes there are other designs available, specially adapted to meet specific requirements.
Auxiliary Branch-Off Gearboxes equipped with up to five driven shafts are designed for the distribution of motion in several planes and directions.
Hollow Shaft Gearboxes, predominantly used in the construction of special purpose machines, facilitate direct connection of shafts and hence torque transmission, reducing space requirements and easing assembly.
Spiral Bevel Gearboxes with Reinforced Through Shaft are used when only partial torques are to be taken off a main line or drive shaft. The ability to transmit the total initial torque via the reinforced continuous shaft d2 has considerable economic impact on new machine designs.
Spiral Bevel Gearboxes of the HRZ Series achieve a short and - due to the spline profile - very precise connection to each drive element by means of a hollow pinion shaft whose bore is an internal involute spline.
F and FS Flange Gearboxes enable motors to be directly connected to the precision right angle gearbox. Tandler have redesigned the input gear to incorporate a press-fit bellows coupling.
Spiral Bevel Switchable Gear Units - in their reversing version - allow the driven shaft to change its direction of rotation, as well as connection and disconnection of the drive. The switchable Reversing Gearboxes have a two-part shaft d2 and therefore allow either the same or opposite directions of rotation of the driven shaft d2 dependent on the lever setting.
Various ways of combining all the designs described above provide a great number of spiral bevel gear options for the most diverse applications.
